Maybelline Color Whispers

So lately I've been hearing a lot of talk about the Maybelline Color Whisper lip line. I had been hearing such great things about these products, and they were all positive things which I personally believe is a very rare thing. My younger sister started wearing them and totally loved them, so I figured why not!? To be honest they're pretty reasonably priced compared to other lipsticks and glosses out there, coming out at around $8 or $9!

I ended up buying my first one in March in the color "Rose of Attraction", it's a noticable pink color and in certain lights very vibrant. I originally bought this color because it looked like a somewhat laid back pink, but in the summer light it's pretty vibrant. In any case I love the texture so much that I will actually wear it on certain occasions!

I haven't had much time to browse cosmetic sections lately but I finally got a chance today! My first stop was the Color Whispers to explore the new colors that were around. I invested in a more subtle color this time choosing "Lust for Blush", which is a couple shades darker and a more neutral color. I absolutely love this color! This is a more everyday color for me and will go with almost everything! I'm spending my summer working as a nanny and don't need to go overboard with the makeup as I'm running around chasing my buddies :P

All in all the Color Whisper line from Maybelline is a great investment if you're looking for a lipgloss that is relatively lightweight. Plus you definatly can't beat the awesome price! The only downside is I find some of the colors do tend to look pretty close to each other, but it will take time to find the right color. If you're lucky enough to be at a drugstore that puts testers out take the time to swatch colors so you know what the look like outside of the tube.

Physicians Formula Mascara vs. Covergirl Clump Crusher

I've heard so much about both these mascaras lately and figured it would be a good time to try them out. I bought both mascaras in March and have been wearing them up until now, trying to gather my opinions and see how each lasted throughout the day.

Physicians Formula Organic Wear: Fakeout

This product had been getting so many positive reviews from other blogs I visit. I was at my local drugstore in March and walked right past it, I recognized it and figure why not try it? I have been looking for a cheaper version of my current mascara and heard that this was similar. The first couple days I wore the product, I was very impressed. My lashes looked longer and the product coated my lashes neatly at the same time not feeling heavy.

I must say that after wearing this mascara for a couple months I am actually very pleased! The only negative I have is that the brush is slightly too big and won't reach my corner lashes. The rubber wand is great and doesn't fill up with product, always a plus. I would defiantly recommend this product!

Covergirl Clump Crusher

This mascara was advertised all over the place, TV, magazines, etc.. Naturally I decided to try this mascara out. This review will be very brief because I wasn't a huge fan of this product. Personally I have never been a fan of the Covergirl mascara line because I feel it just doesn't cover the lashes as well as other products. The product defiantly does what it promises and makes the clumps disappear, which I love! Another positive was the mascara wand, I loved the curve shape of the wand because it could reach every single lash. My negatives are that the mascara really noes not give the coverage of other mascaras and left my lashes looking separated not matter how many takes it took. I really would not recommend this product to others.

My typical makeup routine

On a normal day I normally do the typical routine that every other girl probably does with their makeup. For me school starts at 9:30 am, so I normally wake up around 6:30 to get ready for the day. The first thing I handle is my hair, I shower at night to have more time. I then proceed to wash my face and moisturizer before starting in on the makeup routine.

1) I use either Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro or Bare Minerals Prime Time depending on what type of feeling I want that day. If I want a light airy feeling I will use Bare Minerals because it's much lighter, the only downside is that sometime your makeup doesn't look as good near the end of the day. If I need my makeup to last through school or a long shift at work I will use the Rimmel primer because it's a much thicker primer and has some major staying power.

2) I really don't like the feeling of a really heavy foundation, so I use a tinted moisturizer. My favorite is the NARS Pure Radient, it's a really nice product and lasts quite a while. I apply this all over my face, and it manages to cover all the needed areas. I will also use the NARS concealer on days where I find I have dark circles under my eyes.

3) For everyday use I use the Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit on my entire lid. I then blend Benefit's Velvet Eyeshadow in Where There's Smoke into my crease. I haven't mastered the art of liquid liner so I'm sticking with a pencil. Because I have blue eyes I prefer brown liner, so I use Sephora's nano liner in Chocolate. My favorite mascara is the Benefit Bad Gal, the brush is nice and big and can reach all my lashes.

4) Finally, I use the Nars blush in Torrid. I'm not a huge fan of this color, because I have red cheeks already and this color just makes it stand out. I'm waiting to try out the color Orgasm, but everytime I go to my local Sephora it's sold out. For now I'll just use this until I find I color I prefer more.

So there it is, my typical makeup routine. I do use other products depending on my mood, so I will post what other products I use as well. I will also post reviews on the products, but I would love to know what you gals use in a normal day.

Welcome!

Hey guys!

I've been reading some really cool beauty blogs recently and decided that I should join in and post my thoughts on different products as well as try to help those of you who have questions. I am in no way a beauty expert, but it's something I enjoy doing on the side as a hobby.

I feel like I should introduce myself a bit so you guys can get to know me as well. I'm 19 years old and in my 2 year of college. I currently live in British Columbia, Canada with my awesome family. I have a great circle of friends who I love with all my heart even though we don't see each other as much because we're all spread out throughout the country now. I have been interested in makeup ever since my mom bought me my first makeup palette in 7th grade. I really got into working on different hairstyles within the last year because I had really long hair, but I chopped it off a week ago back to my shoulders to make it healthier.

I'm really looking forward to sharing all my thoughts with you guys and hope you guys enjoy this blog!
